Carp Fishing on a School Night. - Strike Two -

With my first blank under my belt and the weather showing signs of an early summer I knew I had to make the best of every opportunity available to get out and wet a line.I decided it was time to try something a bit different.

When I got home from work I was itching to get out on the bank but with work the following morning I knew I had to get things in motion or I miss my opportunity. I quickly loaded the car while Rachel fed William his dinner before I bathed and settled him down for the night. Once he was asleep I headed down to the Fendrod for a very time restricted night session.

I arrived and being mid-week there was only one other pair of anglers on the lake. I quickly set things up before the sun set, I spotted a few fish moving close in so I decided the concentate my baiting close in. I was fishing pregluged boilies and threw out a heavy amount into two spots then dropped my hookbaits onto the spots.
Another movie still of the moon, this time a completely different colour.
The night was fairly eventful with few beeps and aborted runs but sadly no fish on the bank, not even a Bream. I happpen to find out that I'd set up on the only peg that had been fished for the previous 48 hours so I was baiting up the only area on the lake that had been under angling pressure, not really the best thing to find out after setting up and baiting up.
The rods at dawn, just before the sun started to rise.
I was quite proud of myself managing to get up and getting everything packed down in time for work. I reluctantly left the lake with my second blank but at least I now had the knowledge that I can comfortably hit the lake during 'School Nights' as long as the weather behaves as I can only imagine how hard it would be to face a full day of work after spending a night on the bank in the rain.
CHECK OUT THE VIDEO BLOG OF THE SESSION.
Honestly, I was loved doing the short night session but I would have liked to have stayed until mid morning as there is always a chance of picking up a early morning Carp but I was just happy with getting up, off the lake and into work without being late.
